Diagnosis

No diagnosis of this Angolan endemic close to C. crocea (of which it has been considered a subspecies) is presently available. Please refer to the references provided.

Habitat description

Mostly rivers, but also streams, in open landscapes. Mostly with a gravelly bottom and probably often submerged roots, dead trunks or branches, and/or coarse detritus. Recorded at around 2200 m above sea level.
